In the quest for a sustainable ocean future, the V.ECOP Days 2024 event stands out as a beacon of hope and innovation. Scheduled from 9-11 April and streaming globally online, with live sessions from the UN Ocean Decade Conference in Barcelona, this event is a testament to the pivotal role Early Career Ocean Professionals (ECOPs) play in the stewardship of our oceans.

A New Wave of Ocean Guardians

The UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021-2030) aims to foster scientific research and technology to achieve a healthier ocean. Integral to this vision are the ECOPs, who not only embody the current wave of scientific inquiry but are also crafting the blueprint for ocean science's future beyond 2030. V.ECOP Days 2024 offers a platform for these emerging leaders to showcase their groundbreaking contributions towards ocean sustainability.

Bridging the Gap

By combining the virtual with the physical, V.ECOP Days creates an inclusive sharing, learning, and networking environment. This unique format enables a global exchange of ideas, ensuring that voices from across the globe contribute to the ocean science narrative. The event collaborates with the Global ECOP Programme, emphasizing the collective effort required to navigate our oceans' challenges.

Gratitude and Anticipation

Special thanks to Fisheries and Oceans Canada for their instrumental support in making the V.ECOP Days possible. As we look forward to the insights and breakthroughs that will emerge from this conference, it's clear that the role of ECOPs in ocean science is not just important; it's indispensable. Together, we move closer to the ocean we need for the future we want.
